Pedagogical lines

Education and health

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognizes, among others things, the right to education of all people in the planet. According to the UN, education provides us with the set of critical skills and the necessary knowledge to become empowered citizens who are capable of adapting to changes and contributing to the improvement of society. Educated societies have more benefits than those not educated and produce surprising effects, reducing infant mortality, infections, pollution rates and increasing people’s visibility, social inclusion, respect and tolerance.

Qualified education is the bedrock of health and well-being in a liquid society. The demands of productive life must be set from the concept of education and healthy well-being of each individual. Education, prevention and coping with diseases and pathologies should be priority objectives for governments. Empowering mothers is a key element to optimize the development of girls and boys in both developed and under development world countries.

The pedagogical lines of the ICPESS Congress in accordance with the Incheon Declaration of 2015 considers that we have a great responsibility and commitment to education because it is what will set the guidelines, skills, values and attitudes for improving the life and health of citizens who are committed to the world, both locally and globally.

Howard G. Hendricks

“A child can always teach an adult three things: to be happy for no reason, to always be busy with something, and to know how to demand with all his force of will what he wishes”
Paulo Coelho

«Education is not a preparation for life; education is life itself”
John Dewey

Justice and citizienship

Justice, fundamental rights and citizenship make up a pedagogical triangle that we would like to deal with from ICPESS due to its importance in the development of the 20th century. The UNESCO’s 16th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) has a commitment with peace, justice and solid institutions. Furthermore, 16th SDG has also a commitment with sustainable cities and communities. These goals will become possible thanks to social transformation due to people who are committed with themselves, with other people, with the community and with the society of the global world we are living in.

We understand justice as a wide concept, not only related to the justice dealt out by a court equally. The goal of the ICPESS is to go deeper and understand justice as a basic right for the proper functioning of society in order to establish true relationships between nations and their citizens. Acknowledging each other is basic. Sport and education become key parts in this relation as they influence each other respectfully as a way to establish new connections. In addition, it is crucial to remove barriers so as to avoid increasing inequalities which are the cause of an impoverished world that needs help.

Our mutual understanding of humanity and the capacity to become the instigator of social change are two key concepts that we want to develop and promote from the ICPESS for the purpose to contribute to a society that is more friendly and committed.

This conference targets those people that want to present an oral presentation or a poster related to justice according to the view that we have presented, or related to the importance of citizenship as a general value in accordance with the general topic of the conference.

“For everybody, you could be just one person, but for one person, you could be the entire world”
Pau Casals

“If men fail to reconcile justice and freedom, they fail in everything”
Albert Camus

“The man who knows what is fair is better than the man who loves what is fair”

Culture and business

Besides education as the path that allows us the basis of the individual and community development, we must think about the cultural fact as enriching and as a factor of personal and social growth. We are in an intercultural world, where cross culture is the key for understanding the others and contributing to the social justice, which we see as a need in the 21st century. Paradoxically, we have consciously included the concept of Business in this section because for the ICPESS International Conference business goes beyond the economic factor, since we understand it as those elements that produce benefits for the people and in which companies enter. The relationship between the private and public sectors, the fight for an equal world and curbing the increase of inequalities depend on our conception of Business. At this moment, general culture and companies culture have very different speeches, but we wish them to be complementary from the ICPESS 2020 BARCELONA.

UNESCO’s SDGs are committed to promote an inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and dignified work for all. Human rights are the essential tools for an intercultural and cross-cultural dialogue.

We address those who want to present an oral communication or poster related to cultural aspects or related to the concept of business applied to the general topic of the Congress.

“The current globalization phenomenon, in its eagerness of unifying the markets, is putting cultural diversities, its identity, in risk, besides deteriorating its creative capacity”

Organization and knowledge

Knowledge has often been associated naturally and historically with education, tradition and content memorization. Currently we cannot separate knowledge management with the integral education of the person, and we refer to person as the knowledge access to must be a reality throughout life. We understand by knowledge the set of strategies, skills, competencies, interests, procedures, attitudes, values and norms that is not limited in space or time, since it depends on our attitude and learning along our lives which is active and a reality. It is necessary to develop a better rational and better emotional knowledge.

We must break down with the idea of the knowledge society, which understood knowledge as an accumulation of qualifications or certificates, which does not turn into real transferable knowledge from one area to another.

ICPESS 2020 wants to be a space that facilitates the relationship between organizations, knowledge and the repercussions that this may have in the near future. Knowledge must generate transformation. From the point of view of organizations, it should be kept in mind that it should be organized based on four concepts: health and well-being, conciliation of work and family life, flexibility in time, and distance work / teleworking.

The world where we live shows us its flexibility, but people transform it into an obsessive rigidity because we want to do more things than we can, and the organization and the management of personal time clashes with the management of organizations.

Researchers or professionals working in management or studies related to knowledge may present some oral communication or poster related to the overall approach of the Congress. Also those research or good practices related to the business concept applied to the general topic of the Congress.
