The period of university studies brings both changes and challenges. Starting the university education and being a student means opening a new life chapter related to gain knowledge, experiences for future profession, building personal abilities to contribute in society and changing the life in future. But is not just about educational building. Its also building the personality, developing individuals with moral qualities, social capacities, developing long lasting habits for quality and fulfilled life. This period is also challenging: adaptation on new obligations, new lifestyle and environment. Therefore, the role of the universities is not just to share knowledge and build intellectuals, but also to support students in their personal growth and development. This paper emphasizes different approaches and activities initiated, supported and realized at Goce Delcev University in order to lead students toward quality and active lifestyle, creating supportive environment for developing positive life-lasting habits. The focus is pointed on experiences from organization of sport events, realization of sport curriculum, cultural and social events. In this regard, we speak about sport as university subject (obligatory, selective) extracurricular sport activities, university sport competitions, winter and summer camps, participation in large sport events; cultural events such as exhibitions of students handcrafts, concerts, theatre performances as well as educational events for increasing the awareness for personal health, security, environment protection organized by students etc. Feedback from students and their suggestions for future steps are most valued and integrated in recommendations for future actions.
